About Nutrient Nation

Gain more energy for life with nutrition advice

tailored to the way you live.

Let’s take the guesswork out of what you should be eating. At Nutrient Nation, we make it easy to give your body the fuel it needs for work and play.

Doing all the right things but not seeing the results you want? Or maybe you don’t even know where to start?

When you feel overwhelmed about what you should and shouldn’t be eating, it’s impossible to develop a positive relationship with food.

That’s where we come in – to empower you to make the right choices. Life is too short to yo-yo between diets and experiment with food fads; you deserve a way of eating that will bring out the best in you. (Hint: there is so much more to eating well than steamed fish and veggies at every meal.)

Practical nutrition advice

that suits your lifestyle.

Our method is called Performance Nutrition. This evidence-based technique connects the dots between work, life, exercise and food to give you more out of each day.

See us as much as you need to reach your goals, and enjoy the confidence that comes from knowing you are treating your body right.

Our founder Rebecca Haslam started Nutrient Nation with the goal to make practical nutrition advice more accessible. She may have a PhD in Human Physiology, but she knows how to break the science down in a way that’s easy for you to understand.

Worried that you're too busy or tired to make changes? We can show you simple ways to get healthy.

By teaching you what your body needs, we help you to make positive changes that you can actually stick to. So whether you need more energy, want to lose weight or are training for a big event, we can get you working towards a healthier you.

Meet our nutritionists and dietitians

Dr Rebecca Haslam

Rebecca launched Nutrient Nation in 2015 during the final year of her PhD at the University of Newcastle. She began her career researching the impact of diet on the performance of athletes, but she knew she could be helping more people –and that’s when Nutrient Nation began.

Rebecca is passionate about helping athletes progress from structured and rigid eating patterns to more flexible and spontaneous ways of eating, encouraging a more connected and enjoyable relationship with food, whilst still reaching their sporting potential. She has a down-to-earth attitude that clients appreciate when working towards their personal goals.

She holds a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics, a PhD in Human Physiology and has completed the ISAK Level 1 Anthropometry course. She is also a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia and Sports Dietitians Australia.

Rebecca is currently only seeing clients requiring specialised support to optimise their sports performance, including athletes needing to improve their relationship with food or athletes needing to improve their race day or competition performance.
